Yesterday marks Giada De Laurentiis’ book signing at the Williams Sonoma at Santa Monica (Montana). I was all ready for it as I had planned for the needs of the kiddies and the doggie way beforehand. The travel via the notorious 405 was uneventful and the day was beautiful. Arrived at the store and there was already a line all the way to the side.
I went in and picked up my cookbooks at will call then went back outside again to fall in line. A Williams-Sonoma employee was outside sticking post-its to the inside flap of the book so Giada to facilitate in the book signing.
Announcements were made that Giada will only personalize each book and will not do dedications nor pose for pictures.
Pictures can be taken behind the velvet ropes (sorry didn’t take the picture of the tiny space where we were allowed to stand and take pictures of her) only after you have your books signed. I couldn’t take that perfect picture of her because of the fast turnover of people and just the sheer space of where patrons/fans were allowed to stand to take pictures. Here are some of the pictures I’ve taken…
After the book signing, I went back to Wilshire so I can get on the 405 Fwy. As I was cruising down Wilshire, my foodtruck radar was beeping and then I spotted Chef Brian’s Comfort Truck. So what did I do? Of course I stopped to sample some lunch.
Of course, Chef Brian’s one of the stars of Food Network‘s Private Chefs of Beverly Hills and one thing that I remember from him was this “crack chips” he made during a prom party in BH, of course. And I was unlucky enough that a lot of the menu items were sold out already but they still have crack chips. And man, oh, man…it was really good. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of it *tsk*.
So, that concludes my Food Network kind of day. It was indeed a fulfilling one 🙂
